Scott Segal is a Partner at BDT & MSD Partners, Co-Head of Corporate Credit, and a Co-Portfolio Manager of the MSD Credit Opportunity Funds, Private Credit Opportunity Funds, Special Investment Funds, and MSD Investment Corp. He joined MSD Partners, a predecessor firm to BDT & MSD Partners, at its inception in 2009. He originally joined MSD Capital, now DFO Management, in 2006. Prior to that, he worked at the Boston Consulting Group where he consulted Fortune 500 businesses, and at HarbourBest Partners, LLC, where he invested in late-stage technology companies. Scott began his career as an investment banking analyst at Salomon Brothers (which merged to become Salomon Smith Barney and later Citigroup), focused on corporate finance and M&A in the Telecom sector. Scott sits on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Hudson Guild, a non-profit in New York City that provides adult services, early childhood education, youth development and education, mental health services, and arts programming with a primary focus on those in economic need.

Scott received a B.A. with Honors from Queen's University. He received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors.
